Going
to a new place can sometimes be a little uncomfortable for some people,
especially if you don't know what to expect. So let us give you a
brief run-down of some of things you might see during your visit to
The Rock.
Our weekend
service is designed for anyone to enjoy even if you've never been
in church before so the setting is intentionally casual. We have a
passion for the arts, so music, drama and media are a big part of
the way we communicate.
The
Prelude - The first thing you'll probably see is a lot of people
socializing, talking, laughing, and interacting. One of our main values
and priorities is getting to know each other. Real, meaningful relationships
are the key to a successful lifestyle.
The
Music - You might be expecting something a little more traditional.
After all, it is a church isn't it? If you're expecting this, we hope
we disappoint you in a good way, because conventional just isn't us,
and it probably isn't you, either. We like our music like we like
our lives: energetic and full of expression. You can expect to hear
everything from rock, to ballads to everything in between. The truth
is, music is one of the main methods that we utilize to respond to
God.
The
Message - The message is artistically conveyed through the arts,
creative media, and spoken word. Faith, hope, love, meaning, and purpose
What are they and how do they relate in real ways in our lives? The
Rock is a place to come and explore these topics in a creative way
that will leave you pondering more about why it is that you were created.
The
Outcome - Often times, we'll have a time at the end of the service
for people to respond to God and interact with us about what's going
on in their life. They can ask us to pray for them, or they can ask
us for more information on God, faith, The Rock, or anything else
on their mind.
The
Conclusion - After the service you'll again see people talking,
making plans with each other for lunch or just hanging out in our
'Rock Café'. We genuinely enjoy being together.
